A young Penticton women has escaped custody from a federal prison after being sentenced to confinement for on serious charges noted below.
Her incarceration the result of an incident at a Calgary Avenue home about a year ago.
On November 15, 2014, inmate Amanda Marie Sach failed to return following an authorized temporary absence.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted local police agencies and a warrant for her arrest has been issued.
Sach is 24 years old, measures 5’5” in height and weighs 146 lbs. She has a fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. She has a tattoo on the upper torso of “Carson” and “Jade” on the right forearm of a cross and on the right upper arm of a skull.
She is currently serving a sentence of two years, six months, for Forcible Confinement, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Robbery with Violence.
CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.
