54 Tucelnuit and SOSS students are getting ready to hit the stage at Frank Venables Theatre this Friday, November 21st with a funny, rambunctious, and wholly entertaining version of ‘Rapunzel’.
Each year the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) comes to Oliver to give Tucelnuit and SOSS students the opportunity to get up on stage and be a part of a musical theatre production.
The MCT Tour’s two professional Actor / Directors arrived yesterday, auditioned and cast our kids by yesterday afternoon and will work very intensively with them throughout the week.
Incredibly, by Friday afternoon, the cast will be ready to perform a professionally staged, hour long musical, complete with set and costumes.

Participating in a MCT production residency teaches our kids more than just theatre. In each MCT cast, kids work together, the disabled become able, the shy experiment with bravery, and the gifted become part of the whole. The lesson they learn is that all of them are necessary for the show to go on. Throughout MCT’s residency week, the students will have a ton of fun learning their lines, songs and dances. Much more importantly, they’ll learn that if they work hard…if they push themselves…they can create something wonderful!
Come join us to cheer on our community’s budding performers! Tickets are $10 for adults and $3 for kids, and are available at Sundance Video, and the offices at both Tucelnuit Elementary School and SOSS. And don’t forget to bring your cheque books for the silent auction (with incredible donations from our amazingly generous business community) and bake sale.
See you at the show!
