If self-disciplined, self-reliant, self-confident and self-motivated describe the young adult you hope your child will be then we have some of the training that will help you and your youngster achieve that goal. Cadets have been part of the fabric of our Canadian way of life for many years. This isn’t training them for combat, this is training them in the fundamentals of being a good citizen and many skills which will benefit them in adult life.
But there is more: if flying is the goal we offer Glider Training, access to Scholarship programs in Aircraft Maintenance and Work Experience programs with the aircraft industry; we offer First Aid courses; we offer Survival Skills training; we offer them Physical Fitness training and for the ‘Robin Hood’ in the family we offer access to Archery. Concern for the environment is part of our program for those who like the outdoors; and we stress safe handling of guns and opportunities to participate in target practice for those who may hunt.
If you want to know more about this great program for your girl/s and boy/s why don’t you come to the Annual Cadet Christmas Fair this Saturday November 15th at the Air Cadet Hangar on Cessna Street.
If you are not able to make it Saturday then call our Committee Chair, Ron Worth at 250-498-0654 or our Vice-Chair Susan Midgley at 250-498-2023.
