As a part of the transition to the new library computer system, and to save on costs to the library, the Okanagan Regional Library will discontinue the use of the ORL Mobile App in favour of the new Mobile Catalogue. Beginning November 17th, the ORL Mobile App will be removed from the app stores, and there will be no longer be a separate app to download to your smartphone or tablet.
The ORL’s Mobile Catalogue is optimised to function on any smartphone or tablet with a modern web browser.
The Mobile Catalogue is available at http://ipac.orl.bc.ca/mobile . Library patrons can save this web page to the home screen of a smartphone or tablet for quick access.
Your experience using the Mobile Catalogue on a smartphone or tablet will be very similar to your experience with the full catalogue website on desktop computers, but optimised to fit the smaller screen.
You will be able to access the same great features as on the full catalogue website including…
- Searching for items in the catalogue, now including advanced options so you can search by title, subject, or other areas
- Renewing your items
- Placing Hold Requests and suspending your Requests
- Viewing and adding items to your Lists
Near the end of November/beginning of December a new Okanagan Regional Library website will be launched. The new Library website will also be optimised for viewing on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Thanks for trying out the new mobile catalogue! If you run into any difficulties, please stop in at your local branch.
