Three years ago about 60 people attended an all candidates meeting at the Oliver Legion. There was a mayoral battle that year.

In 2014 a new theatre available but no battle for the Mayor’s chair – an estimate of 175 people attend the forum Tuesday.

Questions to candidates for school board, rural director and councillor positions ranged from: violence in society, hunger and poverty, affordable housing, National Park, Loose Bay water supply, funding for the theatre operations etc.

All candidates answered in the affirmative when asked: Are you voting for funding for theatre operations?
