Questions from Friends of the Oliver Library – never asked by organizers at All Candidates Meeting Tuesday.
“Thank you for asking after our questions. When our representative arrived at last night’s meeting, she was informed that only one question would be allowed. The question she choose was submitted but never read out. At the end of the meeting, we were told that due to time constraints, some questions were not presented. ” – Heather Frank
1) As an elected official, would you be in support of a partnership funding arrangement between the town of Oliver and RDOS for constituent funding requests for the library? Examples of this type of funding are: purchase of the circulation desk, provision of chairs for library patrons; basically any item that is not provided for by the general revenue from the Okanagan Regional Library.
2) As the town of Oliver and Area C has a large immigrant population, is access to literacy through the Oliver library services important to you? Please explain your answer.
3) Which library services and programs do you find most helpful/useful? Given the recent uncertainty of our existing library with regards to its location and service hours, what are you willing to do to support it? When was the last time you frequented the Oliver library?”
