What’s fuzzy and colourful and will make you feel all warm, inside and out? Why, a pair of hand-made slippers or a scarf made by one of the Fibre Broads, of course! Or a shawl for reading in bed or to add a splash of colour to your winter coat. How about beeswax candles to add a warm glow to your dinner table? Or local honey to sweeten your cup, and a felted tea cozy to keep your teapot warm?
All of these and more are for sale at the Fibre Broads Warm and Fuzzy Show and Sale on Saturday November 8, from 10 to 4 pm at the Quail’s Nest Arts Centre.
The Fibre Broads are all local artists and artisans: Jen Allgeier, Klaudia Deschenes, Terry Irvine, Barb Levant, Cindy Levesque, Marion Trimble and JoAnn Turner. Between them, they make a wide range of woven, knitted and felted items like tea cozies, mugrugs and table mats, seat covers, slippers, scarves and shawls. There will be unique art cards to send or frame, collages and paintings, and handmade jewellery and painted boxes to store your treasures in.
There’s local honey in small jars that make perfect gifts or large pails to last the winter, and sizes in between. And 100% pure beeswax tealights and candles that give a warm soft light, and help clean the air indoors without adding artificial scents.
There’ll be fleece and hand-spun yarn in gorgeous hand-dyed shades to make your own creations, or to give to the crafters on your list.
Everyone who buys will be entered in a draw for a doorprize, an assortment of items from each Fibre Broad. The Fibre Broads now accept major credit cards, too!
Come in and visit, have some seasonal goodies and coffee or hot spiced apple juice to set the mood for your holiday shopping!
