John Slater has filed his papers at Osoyoos Town Hall for the position of Councillor.

Slater was the mayor of Osoyoos for two – 3 year terms before running for provincial office. He also served as councillor for many years.

Slater has been out of the spotlight – since resigning his seat as an MLA in January 2013. He had been elected as a Liberal in 2009.

John Slater interviewed today at his nursery on 74th Avenue in Osoyoos. Slater says he will run a positive campaign. Saying that Osoyoos is his home, Slater says he holds fond memories that go back decades.

“I want to be part of a positive team on council with much work to be done in the next four years.
