With the summer now over, which is usually the peak time for animal impounds, the Town of Oliver has been granted the temporary use of the Osoyoos dog pound while land is being properly zoned and a facility is built.
Town council had previously denied a request from Oliver to use the current Osoyoos facility citing capacity concerns.
The use of the Osoyoos dog pound comes at a cost of $200 per month, plus ten dollars per animal.
