Monday, October 20th, South Okanagan Concert Society presents Quartetto Gelato at 7:30 pm in the Frank Venables Theatre.
Known as the “Cirque du Soleil” of classical music, they are variously described as supremely talented, deliciously smart, endlessly creative, refreshingly funny and totally surprising. Tickets are available at Beyond Bliss Esthetics in Oliver and at the door.
From left to right is Colin Maier who plays many instruments plus works as a professional actor. He is an acrobat, dancer and martial arts expert. Then comes Lydia Munchinsky, cellist, who loves musical theatre and is replacing the regular cellist who is about to have a baby any day now.
Peter DeSotta, violinist and operatic tenor, started this group 20 years ago and is accused of being an adrenalin junkie. He worked as a classical musician and started the Quartet as a more lighthearted musical outlet. Belarus born Alexander Sevastian is a four time world accordion champion. Expect a sense of mischief and some practical jokes on stage. Nothing is predictable except the high quality of the music.
Come and enjoy!
