(L-R Col C.R. Namiesniowski, Director of Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers and Cadet Warrant Officer 2nd Class Michael Pattison)
On Saturday , October 4, 2014 , Colonel Conrad Namiesnioski, Director Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers presented Warrant Officer 2nd Class (WO2) Michael Pattison of 232 Big Horn Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Oliver, BC with a Cadet Commendation.
The commendation read, “In that he, on May 24, 2012, near the City of Vancouver, responded to a vehicle accident where he administered first aid to one of the victims who had experienced a significant impact and was bleeding from his nose and ears, indicating a severe head injury. Even after the Fire Department arrived on the scene, WO2 Pattison was asked to continue to provide life sustaining first aid to his patient while they provided triage to the other three less critical victims. WO2 Pattison’s patient was the only victim that was transported to the hospital by ambulance. His skills and his knowledge of first aid were invaluable to the Police and Fire Departments at the Scene.”
The Cadet Program is the largest youth organization in Canada co-sponsored by the Air Cadet League of Canada and the Department of Defense. The Cadet Program aims to instill leadership and citizenship qualities in young people and to encourage their involvement in the community.
