Our Board is extremely relieved that a tentative agreementĀ has been reached and we are optimistic that the agreement will be ratified by both parties later this week. We are very happy that this is a negotiated settlement and that our students, parents and education partners can look forward to five years of labour peace. Teachers are voting Thursday and Boards of Education have to submit their votes electronically by Friday at 1 pm. Details of the agreement will only become public after the voting has taken place.
We are excited to welcome our students back to school early next week and will follow up with updates as they become available.

From the Teachers Union locally:
Will be a General Meeting on Thursday in Oliver at which time we will review and analyze the agreement-in-committee after which each member will cast his/her vote.
Until the teachers have seen the document and voted on it, I will not comment.
