Youth Cares is a youth orientated volunteer group that focuses on developing leadership skills by participating in community projects, events, and activities. The group has raised thousands of dollars in the past for various causes and service groups, as well as contributed countless hours of volunteerism.
Our objective in the future is to show that the youth truly do care by lending a hand to make our community a better place. We welcome any students Grade 5 to Grade 12 who would like to join us in this upcoming year. For our first event of 2014, Youth cares will be hosting a Public Forum that we are organizing for parents and students that have questions about our current school situation.
We have invited five panelists – MLA Linda Larson, Mayor Hovanes, Area C Director Patton, Superintendent Bev Young, and SOSTU President Sylvia Slater to speak. There will then be a question and answer session so that we can all get a better understanding of the situation. This event will take place on Wednesday, Sept 17th at 6:30-8:00pm in the Oliver Elk’s Hall which was kindly donated. We hope to see you there so we that we can all grasp a better understanding of the situation.
