Darkness setting in (7:43pm) Two separate trips from Penticton base for the Electra Air tanker loaded with fire retardant. Ministry of Forest crews will monitor the fire overnight and begin the mop up in the early hours of first light.

Forest fire east of old church 4200 block Nk’Mip Road. No homes or structures believed near the ridge on which the fire is centred.

6:30pm call for assistance. Ministry of Forest in charge assisted by Oliver Fire Deparment.
