This is to advise parents and guardians we are encouraged that the BC Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) and the BC Public School Employers’ Association (BCPSEA) are meeting.

However, we do not have confirmation that schools will be open on Tuesday, September 2.

Consequently, at this point we ask parents and guardians to plan other arrangements for their children effective Tuesday, September 2.
We will continue to monitor the provincial negotiations and hope for a negotiated settlement soon.

If parties reach an agreement over the long weekend, we will communicate with parents and guardians through our website at http://www.sd53.bc.ca/Home%20Page and through media.
