Alternative Approval Process (AAP) is being allowed by the BC government for the bylaw to borrow monies for a new Fire Hall in Osoyoos vs a referendum.
The question:
“Are you opposed to the borrowing of $5,962,657 for construction of a new Fire Hall on 74th Avenue? Borrowing period: 30 years.”

The cost: Increase of $46.80 for the average single family residence.
October 3 has been set as the date that all counter petitions must be received at Town Hall in Osoyoos.
There are an estimated 4740 electors in the Town. If 10 percent of that number sign a counter petition – that would force a referendum in the future.
