Shingle Creek fire west of Skaha Lake is now 100 per cent contained and approximately 30 per cent mopped up.
BC Wildfire management branch still has 23 people fighting the fire which is smouldering on a hillside up Green Mountain Road.
“It got into the timbers just a tiny bit, in some little pockets, but the rest was just a straight forward grass fire,” he said. “Air tankers hit it and stopped it from going up the hill. Crews hand guarded it into the night.”
The fire broke out mid afternoon Monday.
