The RDOS offices in Penticton constructed in 1981. Spacious at the time.
2014 – 72 persons work there, the parking lot is packed and the staff not exactly happy with the air inside, the lighting or the privacy.
What to do? – Move and build a new office? – That cost could be in the many millions. The present building and land might fetch $2 million but the cost of new at $275sf would be more than $3 million.
Directors have opted for a serious analysis with a budget of $ 56 thousand to pay for a structural analysis. A space study has been completed on the building at 101 Martin Street and the professionals believe the existing structure could house the staff and changes to the parking would enhance the functionality. New hvac systems would also lower the energy costs.
