Fire area grows to 100 ha – notice to evacuate

An Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) as a result of a wildfire near Apex.

Due to an interface fire  ( 100 + hectares )and because of the potential danger to life and health, the RDOS has issued an Evacuation Alert for the following areas:

  • 146, 108, 22, 26, 18, 20 Apex Mountain Road
  • 1992, 1940, 1918, 1995, 1925, 1907 and Burlington Ranch (Lot 5,Plan KAP70897 DL 1799 SDYD) on Green Mountain Road .

An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation; however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

In the event of an evacuation use Green Mountain Road as directed either to Highway 3A or towards Penticton.  A registration / reception center for you to report to will be identified and announced at that time.
