Update from BC Forest service – helicopters and tankers en route
to this 3.5 hectare blaze. 8 personnel on the ground at the moment. More on the way. 3 helicopters, one tanker and one spotter plane being used in the attack.

First call on this about 8:30 am. Location 8km s.w. of Oliver

Billowing smoke – white and black visible for about two hours this morning.

Cause and fuel being investigated.

This could be a lightning struck grass fire but the area does have some old “movie set” structures on that bench. To far away and access is difficult.
