Today’s fire at the foot of Mt. Kobau has been determined to be human caused. The fire identified as the Kobau Fire.

When asked why that assessment was made – the answer no record of lightning strikes in the area – unlike the day before in the valley.

Investigation into the cause is proceeding.

Latest update the fire is 80 percent contained. It covers 4.5 ha and appears not to be growing.
