Search continues for two boaters on Kinbasket Lake in northern BC.
One a local man. TheĀ boaters have been identified as Michael Murphy of Mission and Allen Healy of Osoyoos.
Both were working for Western Pacific Enterprises, a contractor working at Mica Dam. Searchers found a cooler and a pair of sandals that belonged to one of the men. A helicopter located an oil spill. The debris was located 1.6 kilometres north of the boat ramp. The Kinbasket Reservoir is more than 200 metres deep near the Mica Dam.
It stretches from near Valemount in the north and Golden in the south. The lake is filled with debris and trees that were not removed before the reservoir was created in the 1970s.
