RCMP are stopping motorists at the Fairview Rd/Willowbrook Rd corner to advise them to be on the look out for a man wanted by police.

He is described as being about 40, heavy set, bald or very short hair, no shirt, tattoos and he should appear thirsty and requesting water.

He had bolted from his vehicle earlier in the day when sought by police. According to one witness a “stop belt” had been placed on the road to Cawston and a search of that area was being conducted by a helicopter.

14:30 hours Thursday July 10 – Oliver Detachment received a report of a stolen van which had gone off road about 5K up Fairview Road (gravel portion). Attendance confirmed the recovery of the van and a motorcycle that was stolen out of OK Falls about 2 hours earlier.

“A RCMP helicopter was involved in the search for the suspect who fled the area on foot toward the Sawmill Lake area. Eventually the helicopter was called away however PDS and Regional GIS remained to continue the search.” says Sgt. Ken Harrington.

Suspect is described as a stocky bald or short haired Caucasian ~ 40 year old male subject who is not accounted for. Efforts continue in order to locate this subject.
