This year’s NBN Basketball Camp almost didn’t happen due to the teacher strike, but it’s official – NBN is a GO! This is our 14th year, and we are so happy that we were able to secure the great facility at the last minute. NBN will be at SOSS Gym, and it’s going to be better than ever!
This summer we have 2 excellent additions to our coaching staff. NBN is proud to welcome Van City Basketball Academy’s Graeme McCallum to the NBN coaching staff. Graeme is a former All-Canadian with Langara, an expert camp coach, and has spent the last 5yrs coaching and developing basketball players all over Vancouver. We are also extremely excited to welcome our first female coach in 4 years, Jessica Franz!
Jessica was a star at the University of Calgary and now plays professional basketball in the Austrian First Division. She’s a fantastic coach, an amazing player, and a wonderful role model for our female campers! It’s also great to have Ryan Baptiste, returning to offer inspiration and basketball expertise. The Rookie Camp (boys and girls going into grades 4-7) goes from 9:00am-noon, Monday July 7th to Thursday July 10th at the SOSS Gymnasium. The Elite Camp (going into grades 8-12) will be from 2-5pm with a different format this year: we will be conducting specialized individual basketball sessions on a drop-in basis. This is an incredible opportunity for high school boys and girls who want to hone their basketball skills, get 1-on-1 coaching and pick up useful tips and tricks from the experts.
