On July 3, 2014, the Board reported on their approval of a compensation philosophy for exempt staff at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS).
The RDOS Board, noting their obligation to be sensitive to both the external environment and the economy when dealing with employee salaries, yet the need to remain competitive to recruit capable talent and maintain existing staff, took a conservative approach to exempt staff compensation.
Salaries will increase for exempt staff by 1% in 2014.
Going forward, a market review will be conducted every third year and based on the results of the survey, a recommendation may be brought forward to the Board for their consideration at that time.
