a closeup22RCMP Const. Kris Clark says the crash occurred on Highway 3 late Wednesday afternoon at Spotted Lake, northwest of Osoyoos.

Clark says both trucks were headed west and one may have side swiped the other while passing. The vehicles then erupted into flames, one of the drivers escaped unharmed, but the second driver was pulled from the vehicle and airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Cst. Clark says the crash caused a ground fire, threatening a local home, and the Ministry of Forests is battling the flames through aerial drops. Clark says the highway will be closed for several hours.
