Witnesses said both trucks were on fire and that the blaze spread to the roadside causing a grass fire.
Osoyoos Fire, police and ambulance rushed to the scene. One driver taken to hospital.
One witness said one of the trucks contained lumber but it was the other semi that was really burning in a wild fashion with its tires on fire causing much black smoke.
Air bombers are attempting to put out the spreading fire.
The road is blocked to traffic both ways and power is out so that we cannot receive pictures from nearby residents.
