City of 7000 to get new hotel

merritt hotelThe City of Merritt will be receiving a $3 million investment in the form of a new hotel.

Merritt city council gave approval for a 40,000 square foot, 46-room hotel development and accompanying 80 seat restaurant that will be located on DeWolf Way.

This project has a value over $3 million in new construction, and will bring an established franchise to Merritt’s “gateway”.

In a statement, Merritt city council said this reflects continuing efforts to “lay down an environment that cultivates new investment and encourages existing businesses.”
