Oliver Boys and Girls have a home secured for its summer program. The Oliver Parks and Recreation Society Board has suggested that the club work with the Multicultural Centre (Portuguese Clubhouse) for accommodation and as a back up – a rate has been set for the use of Room 1 at $600 for the summer.
The Boys and Girls run a summer youth drop-in program.
South Okanagan Minor Hockey association has requested that ice be in the Oliver area earlier in the season to allow better training. Angel Paolera writes: “As the ice in Oliver typically began the last week of September, we had limited ice for both representative and recreation teams to practice.”
The SOMHA would like to start practices in the middle of September. Carol Sheridan, Manager of the Parks Society told her board members everything possible will be done to accomplish the request.
