Susan Kelly, president of the Community Foundation of South Okanagan Similkameen, is at the microphone addressing an attentive crowd at Miradoro Restaurant Tuesday.

The function was to promote the work that the foundation does and introduce the local Oliver advisory panel, who guide the foundation with their local distributions of monies in Oliver. With over 9 million dollars in their investment portfolio for the whole region, some $21,000 was coming Oliver’s way.

Special mention was made of the latest local society, Highway to Healing, which will be a new conduit that the Foundation will be able to direct monies to, so that more local people can receive assistance.
