Dear Parents and Students,
The current situation is that there will be a full scale teacher’s strike starting Tuesday June 17th with no classes for students until a settlement is reached. Listed are a few points to provide our contingency plan in case this strike continues past Tuesday:
Provincial exams for students in grades 10-12 are still scheduled. Unless students hear otherwise, they need to plan on writing these exams at the scheduled times (posted on SOSS website).
Regular school final exams – If students are back in classes by Wednesday June 18th, these exams will go ahead. If this strike is not resolved before Wednesday, school final exams will be cancelled.
Buses – Buses will run during provincial exams. Regular pick up times in the morning with a later return time as provincials run until 4:00 pm.
Textbooks – Students writing provincials should return all textbooks to the school on the day they write. If students have textbooks and are not writing provincials, they should make arrangements to come to school and return these books to the office by Tuesday June 24th. Textbook deposits and report cards will be held until textbooks are returned.
Last Supper Tickets- For grade 12 students who have not picked up their tickets yet, they must pick them up at the office from either Mrs. Harrington or Mr. Toneatto by Friday June 20th
Principal Marcus Toneatto
