Oliver – A 41-year-old Summerland man faces potential robbery charges
after a liquor store was robbed last week.
On June 8, 2014 at 3:09 pm, the Oliver Detachment RCMP responded to a
hold-up alarm at Spud’s Liquor Store located at 6341 Main Street. An
unknown, masked male suspect entered the store and took a quantity of
cash from the till before fleeing on foot. No weapon was seen and no one
was injured in the robbery.
A coordinated investigation, with assistance from the Penticton RCMP,
Penticton First Nations Policing, Summerland RCMP and the Regional
General Investigation Section, resulted in the identification of the
suspect and his subsequent arrest on June 13, 2014.
A 41-year-old Summerland man faces potential charges of Robbery and
Disguise with Intent. He has since been released on a Promise to Appear
for Court on July 24, 2014.
