Oliver – Police are investigating after discovering a body early Saturday morning

On June 7, 2014 at 3:00 am, the Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance near the shore of Sawmill Lake. Police discovered the body of a woman at the scene and deemed her death to be suspicious. A person of interest was taken into custody and investigators do not believe there to be any danger to the public.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and no charges have yet been laid

The Southeast District Major Crime Unit with assistance from South Okanagan Detachment continue to investigate. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
