Major Crimes Unit at Sawmill Lake Saturday afternoon collecting evidence in suspicious death of a 30 year women.
Police called to the Lake at 3 a.m. at which time a man was arrested for questioning in the death.
Nearby campers said they were woken up by police later in the morning, but weren’t aware anything was amiss until then.
“There was nobody we saw that was around, just us and a few other campers,” said Katrina Blondin. “That usually doesn’t happen up here, not that I’ve heard anyway. It’s kind of scary, for sure.”
“When I was woken up by police I was a little concerned, but, until then I had no idea,” said one man.
His partner said it was too windy to hear anything happening at other camp sites.
“The RCMP came this morning, but they didn’t even really tell us what happened,” she said.
Police are urging anyone with information about the the death to contact Oliver RCMP.
