RCMP arrested Maritime shooting suspect Justin Bourque shortly after midnight (8pm our time) in a backyard in Moncton
Police apprehended the suspect in the shooting deaths of three RCMP officers in that New Brunswick city.
24 year old Bourque was the prime target in a police search related to the shooting deaths of three RCMP officers Wednesday night.
The victims have been identified as Constables David Ross, 32, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, 45, and Douglas James Larche, 40.
The two wounded officers were identified as Constable Darlene Gaudin and Constable Éric Dubois.
Free from their homes after nearly 30 hours of lockdown, the people of north Moncton began to come out after sunrise today.
Bourque has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
