The RCMP says three of its officers were killed in Moncton, N.B., by a man armed with guns and two other officers were injured as police conducted a manhunt across the city’s north end on Wednesday night for the shooter.
Two other RCMP officers were taken to hospital suffered non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP looking for 24-year-old Justin Bourque of Moncton. Many services and stores not open and area of the city blocked off as search continues.
The police force published an image of a suspect wearing military camouflage and wielding two guns.
Const. Damien Theriault said police are urging people in the area to stay inside their homes and lock their doors. Drivers were also asked to stay out of the area.
“We’re advising people to stay inside until further notice,” Theriault said.
