About 10:30 am today emergency services dispatched to the Sawmill Rd area when a parachute was found in a resident’s garden.
Better safe than sorry police and ambulance dispatched.
Actually it was a main chute cut loose by a professional and a safety chute engaged.
Andy Morris says in four years of business this event has never occurred but protocol says that when you have reached a certain altitude and there is trouble with the lines – you let that chute go and engage the safety.
That was done – by the book with a safe tandem landing. Like all landings.
Morris says this is routine procedure.
