The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a
man who died in a motorcycle incident near Osoyoos on May 19, 2014.
The man was Stanley William Beaton, aged 55, from Osoyoos.
Mr. Beaton was riding a motorcycle west along the Highway 3 near
Osoyoos when the incident occurred.
Emergency personnel attended the scene and confirmed Mr. Beaton
deceased. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the
incident.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate the death of Mr.
Beaton.

Beaton’s motorcycle left the highway as it was heading down Anarchist Mountain about four kms east of the town. Beaton was alone at the time. He was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.
Beaton, a truck driver, had lived in Osoyoos for 20 years with his wife, Sandra. They have two children.
Sandra Beaton said: “Stan was a wonderful man. He was a loving man. He was a fun-loving man. He was hard-working and friendly and would give anyone the shirt off his back.”
As a truck driver, Sandra said, “Stan drove that highway constantly. He knew that road.”
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Osoyoos Canadian Legion.
