Significant turnout Wednesday for Falls Revite report findings – public info meeting.
A number of people had wanted a meeting in which they could address the crowd and they left disappointed.
The focus was a town centre on the flea market site with visitors to be focused on Skaha Lake beach and waterfront.
Others indicated it was a lot of pretty drawings but the real issue – Highway 97 – has not been addressed.

“The development of a community-led, town centre revitalization plan for Okanagan Falls is a key recommendation within the Okanagan Falls Economic Development Action Plan 2012. This recommendation was borne from feedback received from a wide cross-section of the Okanagan Falls business and resident community. Our objective is, therefore, to develop a town centre, design-focused economic revitalization plan and implementation strategy for Okanagan Falls. This strategy will help reverse the economic fortunes of Okanagan Falls’ town centre through positive streetscape improvements and good design.”
Surveys at Wednesday’s public forum will be tableted and a final report prepared by June 30th.
An Action Plan will follow that report says John Powell, Economic Development Coordinator
