A driver stabilized and transported to SO General Hospital following a single car accident on Highway 97 10 kilometers south of Oliver at Road 20.

The highway was closed for about an hour and FortisBC crews were on the scene replacing a power pole knocked down by the vehicle.

The accident occurred on a straight section of the highway shortly and reported at about 6am. The older model SUV apparently rolled and ended up about 20 metres off the road in a vineyard.

Condition of the driver and the cause of the accident not known.

Traffic had been stopped or diverted at Road 22 and Road 9 during early morning rush.

Injuries not considered to be serious. Police investigating.
