Greater Penticton – no more boil water notices for West Bench

penticton22The Interior Health Authority has given approval today for RDOS to lift the boil water advisory for the West Bench Water System. The installation of a new supply main and booster station has brought clean filtered water to the residents.

Due to water clarity and quality issues, the West Bench Water System has been on a Boil Water Advisory for several years. Prior to recent improvements, the system relied on an intake from Okanagan Lake near the mouth of the river channel. Now water for the system is supplied from the City of Penticton’s water system through a bulk water purchase arrangement.

To celebrate the completion of the project, the RDOS will be hosting a public open house at some point this summer.
