Mark your calendars – May 10 is Move for Health Day, and the Oliver Parks and Recreation Society is encouraging everyone to get out and get moving! Move for Health Day is an international event created in 2002 by the World Health Organization to promote physical activity. Join thousands of fellow British Columbians and communities from around the world who will be getting out and getting active in the name of health!
Come join the fun next Saturday May 10 – everyone 12 years and up is welcome to participate in one or all of the free fitness activities taking place between 10:00am-4:00pm at the Oliver Arena & Community Park. Try an exciting H.i.i.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) class led by Teresa Maurer, or if dance is more your style check out the Zumba Gold class with certified instructor Stephanie Ryan. We are trying to make this the biggest Zumba class ever held in Oliver! Activities will also include a Nordic pole walking clinic around the park (or around the arena if raining), a Mixed Level Yoga class with Judy Nicholas and a Pickleball Clinic and Scrimmage session led by experienced player Mike Carter.
There is lots of fun for kids under 12 too! Children are invited to join in the sports and games happening in the park between 10:00am-1:00pm. If it is raining the children’s activities will move inside the Arena.
