MLA Linda Larson says she wants to thank the local Oliver Fire Department members for thinking of valuables in a building on fire.
Larson says a front window was broken on Main Street and art work removed from the walls. Once she arrived on the scene she requested that modems and computers be taken out. They complied.
The local MLA says she and her two staff members operated from their homes from election day in May 2013 until September of that year before moving in.
She says they will do that again – while the building is assessed for damage and remediated. Linda says her personal office in the rear of the building was heavily damaged and contained personal effects like pictures of her family.
Every thing that can be removed will be taken out later today once the all clear is sounded by authorities investigating and dealing with the fire.
