Good morning! The Keremeos fire near Upper Bench has been contained and responsibility has been turned back over to the local fire department.

The Wildfire Management Branch had been assisting the Keremeos Fire Department with a blaze in the forest estimated at 4 hectares in size.

There were 15 firefighters from the Kamloops Fire Centre assisting to contain the fire which is now smouldering with some open flame.

The fire is burning north of Upper Bench Road which is north of the village.
