Pamela Woolner of Thornbury, Ontario new Community Heritage Manager for the Oliver and District Heritage Society.
On the job in Oliver. Pam is looking forward to the upcoming annual general meeting April 16th as a way of meeting the members and volunteers.
Woolner says she is here to accomplish the goals of the organization and is thankful for the many volunteers that have come forward to help with projects. She says she is settling into a new home and a new area and that is a task in itself.
New summer public hours for the Museum will be announced shortly. The society operates two buildings: an Archive/office and the Museum/project working area.
Society Chair, Sue Morhun says “We’re really looking forward to having Pam with us. She has a wealth of experience and training in terms of museums, archives and the built heritage and is ideally positioned to build on the strong base our former Manager Tracy Johnson began nearly two years with the help of Collections Manager Bryonie Mahe”.
Armed with Bachelor degrees in both the Arts and Education, Pam has also earned credentials in community arts development, museum studies and cultural resource management over the course of a ten year career.
