April 1st is World Parkinson Day. The Osoyoos Parkinson Support Group will recognize the importance of increasing awareness of the activities of Parkinsons BC in improving the lives of Parkinsons persons and their care partners.
We will be meeting at Heritage House, in Oliver, from 1 to 3 pm. We welcome new people to come to learn about the support services available. These include: educational materials, assistance from a professional counsellor, CD’s from many conferences, and a month newsletter GROUP LINK.
All of our members are thankful for the comradarie in the support group. They learn ways to handle their responses, because suggestions are usually well tested. The members of the group can relate easily to one another.
Parkinsons BC receives no government support. There the only way to be able to achieve their mission:to address the personal and social consequences of Parkinson’s disease through education, outreach, scientific research , advocacy and public awareness.
THE PARKINSON MOVEMENT has been planned as a way to stimulate people to exercise , and at the same time raise money to help fund the many services they available from Parkinson B.C.
