1. The Society agreed to a 20 year lease offer from the Town of Oliver on a building used by the Okanagan Portuguese Club for a $1 a year.
2. The Parks Board will seek a shorter term lease with the Okanagan Portuguese Club on the same piece of property for 2014 and 2015 with no rent to aide the club which says it facing declining revenue and membership. The new lease will require the club to attract members of all cultures, rename the building to attract other cultures and report back annually on its progress. The rent subsidy would be reviewed at the end of 2015.
3. Two committee were struck : Personnel and Operations
4. The board will conduct a strategic plan review in May
5. The annual general meeting of the Society and Review of audited statesments will be held April 22nd at 6pm
6. Allan Patton, Regional Director RDOS explained to the board his reasons for keeping the Parks budget at a 0% increase for 2014. To make that happen $19,594 in savings had to be found. The board responded with a motion that lessened the amount of a projected surplus on arena operations. The RDOS directed approved such budget at its last meeting.
