Osoyoos knocked out of the running for 2014 Kraft Hockeyville top prize but the local arena still wins $25 thousand.
Two communities from Western Canada and two communities from Eastern Canada survived the top 16 and are still in the running for $100,000 in arena upgrades, a visit from CBC, and the chance to host a preseason NHL game are:
Western Canada
- Shaw Centre – Salmon Arm, B.C.
- Medican Multi-plex – Sylvan Lake, Alta.
Eastern Canada
- Credit Union Centre – Kingston, N.S.
- Bedeque & Area Recreation Centre – Central Bedeque, P.E.I.
The four communities announced on Saturday are guaranteed at least $50,000 for arena upgrades.
The 12 that did not make the cut in the first round of voting won’t go away empty-handed; they all get $25,000 for arena upgrades.
