Big Benefit for Band Shell in Okanagan Falls
Sunday, March 2, from Noon to 8:00 p.m., the Okanagan Falls Legion was alive with the sound of music! A benefit concert was being held to assist the Okanagan Falls Women’s Institute with the Band Shell project in Centennial Park. Local musicians, Rusty Copeland, Just Joe, Shindigger, Terri Bremner, Roland Allen, Cindy Doucette, Mikie Spilette and Ken Repkow all donated their time, talent and music to the event. Food was prepared and served by the Ladies Auxiliary, and a large silent auction was held. When the dust settled, the donations for the event came to over $2,000.00. The Band Shell Committee want to thank Oliver businesses, Super Valu and Tim Hortons for their participation.
We are almost there! Soon a new Band Shell will stand in Centennial Park. Many thanks to the Okanagan Falls Women’s Institute for another improvement to the community.
