OLIVER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM ANNOUNCES
2014 CANDIDACY CALL

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CURRENT AMBASSADOR TEAM:
It is now that time of year, when we are looking for anyone interested in joining the Oliver Ambassador Program. To be eligible for candidacy you have to be currently in grade 9-11, and willing to volunteer around the town of Oliver and discover your own personal skills.

This 5 month candidacy program will teach you many skills and prepare you for our pageant in late August. You will participate in individual skills development, and team building activities. Registration starts now with meetings beginning in April.

The point of being an Ambassador is to make a difference. Many people relate running for Oliver Ambassador to competing in a beauty competition, but it is not that in the slightest. It doesn’t matter what you look like, you still have this wonderful opportunity to contribute. You get to do so much for your community, and other communities at times. Each new task has a great cause, and gaining these hands on skills will benefit you for a lifetime. Both young men and women have participated before, there is no discrimination here! During your months as Candidates, you will grow in so many more ways than expected. It’s time to break out of your box and show the world who you really are. Join our program today, and let us see the real you!

As a candidate in the Ambassador program, you will learn many skills that will help you become a more confident person. You will focus on public speaking, presenting yourself professionally, and still being able to show your true self. These skills will be with you throughout the rest of your life as you develop them. Candidacy is also a great way to find out more about yourself and who you are as a person. By joining the Oliver Ambassador Program as a candidate, you will develop many important skills and learn much more about yourself in an environment with people who look out for and care for you. If chosen as an Ambassador you will represent Oliver locally and provincially.
